The Power of Using Su.pr As Your URL Shortener

Using a URL shortener is a must if you’re sharing links on twitter or any other micro-blogging site. Shortening links gives you more characters to write with and when shortening them with certain URL shortening services, you can also track the clicks and get statistics on your links. There are many URL shorteners out there but which one should you choose?

Well everybody is unique and prefers certain URL shorteners for different reasons but after trying bit.ly, then ow.ly and then su.pr I had to pick one. All three of them offer their own benefits but I chose su.pr above the rest because it just kills the competition in the areas that matter. My experience with su.pr has been nothing short of exciting.Within the first few hours of using su.pr and posting tweets, I found that the links in my tweets got clicked 200-350% percent more than any other URL shortener. I also found that using the words “Free” and “Video” increased CTR of the links by 50-200%. The tweet I was most impressed with the most was my tweet about “Total eclipse of the heart: Literal video version” which I just posted for fun and in the first  hour I received a total of 41 clicks but stumbles of that page still increased to 111 in 7 hours and still growing (just as an update, 24 hours since I published this post, it has now received 811 stumbles)

Here’s Why I Chose Su.pr:

1.One of the shortest URL shorteners with 4 characters so I have more characters to utilize in my updates.

2.I can post to Twitter and to Facebook from the dashboard, as well as being able to thumb up and review on StumbleUpon itself.

3.It offers pretty good real-time statistics on clicks, retweets, stumbles, reviews about the page, your most popular updates, promoted website stats and the top traffic sources for each update.

4.I can also get short URLs on my own domain (i.e. http://blaineblogger.com/jfj5h)

5.I can schedule my updates for later

6.My Favorite – Suggested Posting Time.Su.pr monitors the traffic to your links and determines the best posting time to maximize your traffic.

There are the 6 points why I chose su.pr but I would like to know what you use and why do you use it?

Is there any other URL shortener you feel is better?
